2 More Weeks
It’s the end of Week 12, and the final touches on everything is being done before Final Presentation on Monday, December 16.
A lot has changed since the beginning of the thesis journey. From colors to typography, and the biggest change of all, the visual system, this thesis journey has been a challenging one. There were many times during this journey that I wanted to just wipe the slate clean and start all over, and other times I just wanted to completely give up.
My biggest challenges were research and user-testing. Analytics and calculations are not my strong suit, so when it came to analyzing surveys and questionnaires, I wanted to throw in the towel. User-testing wasn’t so difficult, it just felt awkward sometimes because I didn’t know how parents will feel towards the topic that I chose. There were times when it didn’t seem like a good topic at all. A minor challenge that I had, up until today actually, is photographing the deliverables. But good thing that I have a professional photographer on hand, who actually was able to squeeze me in for a product photo shoot.
However, I am glad that I stuck with it because the progress that I have seen over the semesters with this project is something of which I truly proud. The design has come such a long way, and all the deliverables surpassed all my expectations. Though I had a setback during Thesis 3, and some required items got started late, such as the walkthrough video and the thesis presentation, I was able to catch up through hard work and late nights. And it looks great, I believe!
The Thesis Summary Video is also another item that got started late. But luckily, I was able to start on in during my After Effects class during one semester, and I was able to tweak it to complete the requirement. I am glad I started on that early because all I had to do was update the visual system. Everything else was already in place. And speak of After Effects, I am glad that I enrolled in this class. Had I not taken this class, I would have been struggling so much more to complete what is needed for this project.
I do hope that everything that I have done is up to par. I believe that once the newer photos are in place for my final deliverables, everything will be good to go and I can present on Monday, December 16. I am quite nervous as this is a long-awaited date and meeting. But hopefully, all will go well, and we will have good results from the presentation! Fingers crossed!
